AR400 Balistic Skid Plates

AR400 2014-2024 NON-KDSS full skid plates. These are built from abrasion-resistant high-carbon alloy steel. AR400 is used in extremely demanding industries such as mining, quarrying, and construction industries. specifically designed to withstand harsh environments where it's constantly impacting or sliding against rock. these are not the lightest skids on the market, but they are the toughest!
 
AR400 holds extremely similar properties as a class 1 military steel armor plate (MIL-A-12560) specified by the Department of the U.S. Army. MIL-A-12560 is an armor plate used on military vehicles for its ability to absorb shock extremely well. Safeguards personnel and assets in combat environments from ballistic penetration, blast fragmentation, and explosive threats, and maintains structural integrity even after multiple impacts. The main difference between AR400 and MIL-A-12560 is that the AR plate is more cost-effective due to the lack of military certification.
 
AR400/MIL-A-12650 undergoes a hot rolling, two-step heat treatment process that triples the Tensile strength, while also increasing the wear and impact resistance. Due to the costly manufacturing process, this material normally costs up to 3 times the price of standard P&O or A36 steel used in undercarriage protection.

NO OIL FILTER ACCESS - heat from the welding process will remove the two-stage heat treat from the steel. Therefore we opted to go without an oil filter access to maintain the steel's structural properties.
